It's amazingly hard to get your writing out there to the masses of people all over the world, let alone your own country.

What you need to provide:
As you can see by the sample Jane Doe and John Doe page, lots of information is provided.
You can provide whatever information you like. However, so the author pages are at least mostly similar, we will keep to the basic format that you see on the sample profiles.
Check out Mat's, Melka's, and Jane's pages and you will see how different each is in their own way.

-A short blurb will be at the top next to your photo, so I'll need both of those supplied via email as soon as you can.
-A short paragraph of news about you is next to that again. Please send me an update regularly so I can keep your readers informed - minimum of once a month - maximum of once a week.
-What have you written? If you have books as hard copy or online, send me a link, or how people can buy them (Smashwords is great for online sales and easy to link to). If you are not selling them, send me a Word Doc or PDF, and I'll list them for free for people to read.
-A great bio about you. Editors, writers, authors, literary agents, all have bios online. Check them out and do something similar. Generally a bio is about your writing. However, at the end of the bio many authors add a little something personal about themselves which helps their readers relate to them better.
-Everything else is all about you, which is again so readers can connect with you. It's the same as if you were an actor or a musician, your fans want to know about you as well as about what you write. Ensure you add photos too.

A world of writers have come together to create the Writers Collective. It is here that everyone can become fully immersed within a writer’s work and learn all about your developing career. This is your first step to becoming a paid writer. No, you are not a sell-out. Instead, you will be recognised for the work you already do.

However, it is not an easy road and requires lots of time and even more patience. But this is what appeals to literary agents, publishers, and editors: being ready to pitch a finished written piece that already has a readership base.

For now, offering up free samples as well as free full-length stories (if you wish to), is the way you are going to build up a large readership.

All writing welcome. Novels, poetry, non-fiction, scripts, everything.

To help with the running of this website there is a small cost of $15 for an entire year (free for 2017). At present, this will not need to rise. However, it is best to call this the introductory amount while author numbers are building.

As well as notifications on this website regarding everyone's work, such as book launches, being a winner or runner-up for writing competitions, being published (traditional and self-published), and other successes, you will also have your own page to post up work, add links to your blog, links to your website, links to where you are selling your books online and hard-copy, and much more. For only $15, it is a good deal.

Even if you have other creative things you want to show off or sell, you are welcome to list these as well. Maybe you paint, maybe you have an EBAY store, or maybe you host roll playing games. Feel free to list these as well!

Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane heat wave and wind!

Looks like we are getting belted around by our desert winds.

So what's happening?
Well, when we get winds blasting us from the northern areas of Australia, we also get the heat that has draped our central red land, which gives us this crazy heat. And that my friends is setting new records all up and down the east coast.

It's quite normal during summer, as our winds change direction during this time, but for Spring it is just crazy.

Mega City is a challenging puzzle game.
Situated within the central areas of Melbourne, you will need to work through the clues, search buildings, signs and land marks, and force your brain to think outside the square.
Each clue is submitted by Mega City to you via email to your smart phone. And each puzzle you have to work through will involve the things you see around you and random off-beat cryptic messages that will require assistance from the World Wide Web.

Mega City may be a little challenging at times, but it's also fun and full of mystery. The clues are obscure, and some of the puzzles will baffle you, but when/if you make it to the end, then people will have to bow down to you for being so darn smart.

More good news is that you’ll have fun, the adventure will be a great challenge, the story within the game is interestingly warped, and these games are smart-phone friendly.

Get answers to the clues any way you can (without cheating), search the web for answers, ask people on the street, search high and low for anything that looks like a clue no matter how obscure.

(What is cheating? For those of you not familiar with the word, it is when you try to find the answers out without doing the work. Such as searching for a person’s blog who has already done the game and finding the answers that way. That is cheating. And although we can’t stop you, people will call you a *#@%! %$#@ when everyone discovers what you have done. And your fellow players will not be happy that you have cheated.

Leader boards are not to be trifled with. Other players are trying their damndest to beat you and get high on the leader board. This is a serious game, many have even called it fun, but if you are a cheater you will be banned from all games for life.)

Beware the red herring! The clues, tips, hints, and other unusual points are mostly to steer you in the correct direction. Other times they are annoying dead ends, a garden path that is going to cost you time or points, or a lump of coal in a stocking that we told you was candy. No, it isn’t fair. Yes, you will despair.

We are not your good natured friends (or if we are, then we are the kind of friend you hang out with that always annoy you with misleading information and anecdotes. Speaking of anecdotes, the origin of Red Herring which is to mislead, is not known. There are stories about chests of money turning out to be red herrings, as well as using red herrings to mess up the scent a dog may be following, but alas they are only stories).

We have created these games to frustrate you and hopefully litter your future bed times with nightmares about trying to find a certain water fountain with only a vague reference that no one has ever heard of before. Hence why you will need to search online while playing our games to discover the references that our insane clue masters have created.

If you get lost, we can not help you. If these games are too hard for you then why not attend our show instead? The clues are a mild challenge where you will be entertained by actors who host the show.

Otherwise, we are also in the process of creating a children’s clue game. Maybe that would be more your speed?

• We suggest a team of 3-5 people (there is a discount for 5-8 people with a maximum of 8 people in total per group). Try it on your own if you like. Or race friends in two separate groups. The game is yours to play how you want to, with 1-8 people per team. And remember, the more brains you have working together, the better. You can start any time from 10am onwards.

• Dress up is optional, but encouraged. The games have themes, so we hope that you will adopt that theme and play the game as it was meant to be played. 

• To further encourage you to play in character, when you take a photo of your team at the start of your game and send it to us, we will add bonus points depending on how we rate your costumes. Of course if none of you are wearing costumes, but you have had points added for wearing costumes, it means we thought you all looked so strange that it had to be cosplay.

• Who should play these games? Everyone. No special requirements needed to play.

• Even though the games have originally been designed for ages 15 and up, you will be a group of brains, and can therefore all help each other find the solutions. The speed that kids learn these days and that they are growing up smarter than adults and faster than the burger joints can put up “We’ve Got Healthy Alternatives” signs, you will be lucky to have the little ones along for the ride.

• Bringing your dog is ok. However, there are a couple of times where you may need to leave your dog outside for a very brief moment. Just something to consider.

• Please check your SPAM folder if you can’t find the emails we have sent you!

• If you have special needs or require an apparatus to aid with walking, you may wish to opt for a wheelchair, motorised if possible. Otherwise someone strong to push up hills and for a distance. There are also a couple of areas where a ramp is not provided, here you may either not be able to gain access and may have to wait 2 minutes for your group to go inside and return. Or there is a long way around in some instances.

Difficulty levels are not used in our games. They’re all at maximum of hardness... ahem. We use time instead.

For example, Time: 2 hours.

If you can complete this game you will hopefully do so in under 2 hours. If you do then you will get additional points for every minute under 2 hours. Over 2 hours and you will get points taken away.

All games have two different starting points. This allows you to try a different starting position if required, and with less chance of teams interfering with other teams.
