Two old lions roared at the world, their teeth sharp and pointed. The world - an open plains in the lower green parts of Africa, cried its silence in return.
They sniffed the air, scratched their fur, and pawed the dirt below them. The world took no notice.
A second passed by the world, and in this time dinosaurs lived and died, mammals came and went, the land changed and continents drifted into each other.
Another second passed by the world, and a new creature stood alongside another. They called out to the world. They stood on their five hind legs and lowered their snake like heads, they ate the bugs in the white dirt and licked their hairless arms.
Again the world took no notice.
